Hosted by the Monarchist League of Canada, the Government of the Northwest Territories, Northern Arts and Cultural Centre and the City of Yellowknife.

Live entertainment by “The Aurora Fiddlers” featuring the Fiddle Cats followed by a nine-piece soul band, “The Committed”.

Dress up in your best royal wear including the popular fascinators, a hair accessory often worn by Royalty, in the spirit of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration.

Children’s activities  hosted by Ecology North; Barbeque & Lemonade Stand contest; Artisan workshops (mask and kite making and hula hooping) Food vending available on site provided by TJ’s Nut Hut & Cofee Shop.

A Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Reception at the Legislative Assembly - Open to the Public
First medal presentation by the Commissioner of the NWT and recognition of the 2011 Royal Tour volunteers by the Premier of the NWT. See photo gallery.

A congratulatory book and a pictorial display of digital photographs of past NWT Royal visits will be available in the Great Hall of the Legislative Assembly. A second congratulatory book will travel to the communities.

Gail Cyr, Special Advisor to the Minister responsible for the Status of Women with the Department of Executive, was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Governor General of Canada in Ottawa for her volunteer work with St. John Ambulance.

February 7-10, 2012 - The Legislative Assembly raised the Queen’s Jubilee Flag.
